The Longchamp brand was founded in 1948 in Paris by Jean Cassegrain. At first, the company produced coated leather pipes that were handmade. Over time, the business expanded to include cases, pouches, wallets and leather goods. Although the company functioned perfectly, its most important breakthrough was the creation of the Le Pliage bag in 1993.

After the great success of the nylon bag, the brand began to introduce other, more luxurious models, made entirely of leather. Among the popular Longchamp bags are also: Le Pliage Neo, Le Pliage Cuir, Roseau Bag, La Voyageuse Bag or Pénélope.

Modern Longchamp models depart from the minimalism typical of Le Pliage. Geometric patterns, explosions of colors, and textures are still preserved in the form characteristic of the brand. Longchamp, which is already 77 years old, is still managed by family members who constantly invest in its heritage and development.

The Longchamp brand has around 300 stores worldwide, and has moved from being an accessories seller to a fashion house. Its shows can be seen not only in Paris, but also in New York, which significantly affects its position.
